The “huge new feature” mentioned in last update’s video is in the works, which is why this update is a bit smaller than usual. While I plan to have official translations in the completed version of Streets of Rogue next year, Alpha 14 allows anyone to translate the game to other languages. Hacked versions of the game have popped up, featuring a new logo and translated text – which I think is pretty frigging impressive! But, I also wanted to offer people a more “legit” means of translating the game. It has recently come to my attention that Streets of Rogue has gained a lot of popularity in China. ![]() Consider your spine tingled and your pants soiled. It’s October, which means I’ve added some obligatory Halloween-themed content to Streets of Rogue, in the form of the Werewolf character. Too busy! But if you’re attending, head to tinyBuild’s booth and check out the game, and please notify first-timers that they’re not required to kill everything in sight. Or the upcoming PAX East for that matter. Sadly, I won’t be able to make it to PAX South. So if you like chaos and you’re one of those people who has “friends”, good stuff headed your way! Will a 4-player couch co-op mode prove “way too chaotic”, as I originally felt it would? Who knows, and more importantly, who cares? Now that it’s programmed, many of these changes will make it into the downloadable version of the game at some point. There’s also been a whole slew of interface changes to better accommodate a four-person crew. Players can also drop in or out of the game at any time, which wasn’t possible before. In this special trade show version of the game, four players can play on the same screen. One week later comes the first iteration of “Streets of Rogue: Arcade Edition”! Well, tinyBuild asked me on short notice if I could put together a build of the game that would be more suited to the PAX environment. My response has traditionally been “naah that would be way too chaotic for one screen, I’m going to leave it at 2 players”.
